Maxxam Puppet Asks For More Money

George O'Brien, Maxxam-appointed headman at Palco, thinks he deserves a $450,000 bonus. Nearly half a million dollars for making all those hard decisions. Oh yeah, and the millworkers can maybe have $3,300 or so if they behave.

Meawhile the company is asking for another big loan because, according to Palco attorneys, their finances will be down to $123,000 as of July 20.

Enjoy the grapes Nero.

How nice. O’Brien has been with PL less than a year, but already received $352,192 (likely on top of other monies), and now he needs another $450,000? The guy must shit gold. What has he done aside from oversee lay-off and hide behind Andrea Arnot?

Oh, now I remember what else O'Brien accomplished. He praised the Texas court for keeping the bankruptcy proceedings in Corpus Christi rather than move it to California where it belongs.

His only public statements that I remember came when he was first appointed. He practically begged everyone to "be fair". Now look who's positioning himself to run off with the second biggest piece of the Palco pie.

SAF posts on O'Brien

No, not you. You're exactly right to point out that O'Brien introduced himself to Humboldt County with his "let's be fair" speech, but now wants, as you say, the "second biggest piece of the Palco pie."
