New Logging Plans Threaten Oldgrowth Douglas Fir.

Both Pacific Lumber (PL) and Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) have filed Oldgrowth timber harvest plans (THPs ) recently. The PL plan "Scraps" (#1-07-005) targets remnant Oldgrowth Douglas Fir stands in Bear River near Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Total acres- 254.

The SPI plan "K2 THP" (#1-07-006)also targets areas of Oldgrowth Douglas Fir. This plan is located sixteen miles southeast of Blue Lake off of Snow Camp road. Total acres- 247.
